The organization promotes environmental management by engaging in non traditional avenues of business and social development, by raising awareness of landscape level issues, natural resource limitations, sustainable natural resource management and environmental health. These include assisting emerging (LRAD) farmers during the planning phase, engaging in local government planning processes ( LED, SDF, IDP, etc) and assisting various government departments like DLA (Land Restitution Programme).
One of the biggest stumbling blocks to effective biodiversity conservation and protected area management is the lack of adequate planning. Without adequate planning, conservation and protected area managers will lack the information and understanding that is needed to make informed decisions that will accomplish their various conservation objectives.
Typical tools used in the environmental planning processes are Environmental Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Use Zone Maps, Conservation Development Frameworks, Environmental Impact Assessments and OSCAR permit applications, business plans, feasibility studies, etc
